The Kinfolk Table | Gathering and Dinner

Last year I had the pleasure in shooting the fourth Kinfolk gathering in NZ. It was a wonderful dinner event held in honour of The Kinfolk Table cookbook release. Shaye from On My Hand pulled this event together so perfectly! I just loved how authentic the night was – simple decor, great food and some laughs with friends.

Devour Catering and Spongedrop absolutely nailed the catering. My two favourites from the evening were Devour’s ricotta and mint stuffed courgette flowers (I had never eaten one of those before and they were seriously amazing!), and Spongedrop’s beetroot and goats cheese macaron! Everything was just so delicious and the food really complimented the styling of the evening. We also got to enjoy some Volcanic Hills wine and Croucher Brewing craft beer with our meals which were a fantastic pairing to the food.

Every guest got to take home a yummy vanilla pod from Heilala Vanilla and a candle from Indie Home Collective. I got the vanilla and chilli one – smells so good!

If you ever get the chance to go to a Kinfolk event, whether it be another dinner gathering like this one or a workshop (they happen all over the world and there may be some more New Zealand ones in the works for the future) you should definitely head along. They’re a lot of fun and I’m super keen to go to a few more of them! A big thank you to Shaye for having me along to capture this awesome one. :)
